- Mother/baby nurses are generally available to a woman and her infant at the beginning of the postpartum period and it is the nurse’s job to facilitate that both mother and infant receive the support and medical care needed for a successful recovery.
- Additionally, the mother/baby nurse provides care and support to the antepartum and gynecological patient.
- The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
