PACE has since expanded into a variety of service areas, all tailored to meet the growing and changing needs of the multi-ethnic communities in Los Angeles County. JOB PURPOSE: This position is responsible for assisting the Controller and becoming part of the accounting team which may involve: grant accounting and reporting, allocations of shared costs, budget development, ensuring compliance with Uniform Administrative Requirements and contract terms and conditions. Position is responsible for monitoring cash flow to ensure sufficient cash on hand to cover various expenses. Perform various reconciliations, ensuring all month-end and year end accrual are posted to the general ledger. Making sure various periodic financial statement and grant reports are prepared accurately and timely to the funding source. This is a great entry level position for candidates looking to start their career in accounting or nonprofit sector. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: <ul> <li>Prepare monthly/quarterly/yearly financials, reports and budgets according to schedule in timely manner.</li> <li>Assist with audits and yearly reports and schedules in timely manner.</li> <li>Verify and post and reconcile all transactions that are properly documented in accordance with accounting standards and government regulations.</li> <li>Responsible for maintaining daily cash flow</li> <li>Reconcile cash and balance sheet accounts</li> <li>Assist with contract audits, corporate audits, including A-133 and SEFA.</li> <li>Work on various tasks and reports assigned by the Controller</li></ul> QUALIFICATIONS: <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance from an accredited college or university, or currently attending school working towards a Bachelor's degree</li> <li>Minimum one year experience as an accountant / bookkeeper.</li> <li>Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is a must</li> <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite</li> <li>Ability to work with minimal supervision.</li> <li>Experience with nonprofits or fund accounting is highly desirable</li></ul> SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: <ul> <li>Must pass a pre-employment physical examination including drug/alcohol screening</li> <li>COVID vaccination required; must have two-dose series of Pfizer or Moderna or a single-dose of Johnson & Johnson.
