- The Interventional Cardiology Rad Tech Transition Program is a hospital-based cardiac procedural area training program which includes in-person and virtual classroom time along with precepted hours.
- Upon successful completion of the program, trainees will promote into a full time Cath Lab/EP Rad Tech 1 position at the Cath/EP Lab at Mercy San Diego.
- Interventional Cardiology departments are responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with conditions such as coronary artery disease, electrical issues such as a-fib, valvular regurgitation with structural heart implants, and improving ejection fraction with the implantation of cardiac pacemakers.
- Under general supervision, the CV Radiologic Technologist operates digital fluoroscopy equipment in accordance with guidelines outlined in Title 17.
- Enforces principles of radiation safety and practices radiation safety procedures.
