- Traction power systems involve elements of engineering for transmission and distribution of electrical power including power transformation, switchgear, battery systems and substation controls, relay protection and automation systems with a specialty application for rail systems.
- Additionally, HNTB electrical team also are actively involved in associated electrical power systems related to rail and transportation projects.
- This type of work involves design of system lighting, grounding, passenger stations, rail yards and facilities, signal power and utility power interfaces including loadflow studies, short circuit studies and arc flash analysis.
- This is for an New Grad electrical engineer who will be actively involved in all aspects of the electrical team assisting in preparing designs, reports and studies for traction power system improvements, capital projects and for various rail projects from feasibility through final design and construction.
