- Under the direction of the Executive Director, Revenue Cycle Manager, and Billing Lead, the Insurance Verification Specialist/Financial Aid Counselor is responsible for working with patients/families to resolve their financial obligation for services received at Pacific Cancer Care through patient assistance programs, charity funds or other payment options/plan.
- Essential functions include but not limited to estimating out of pocket costs and preparing documents to present to the patient and interviewing with them to discuss available financial aids/payments options, reviewing the visit list and notifies front office for time-of-service collection, enrolling patients and following up with financial aid programs, assisting patients with their billing related concerns.
- The Insurance Verification Specialist/Financial Aid Counselor will also assist with any other billing department duties assigned and maintains confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA laws.
