- Performs journeyman's level of work for the installation, maintenance, inspection, modification, remodel and repair of mechanical plumbing equipment, gas, oil, steam, fire sprinkler/prevention, and refrigeration-related plumbing systems; act as lead worker to other classified staff in the area; and perform related work as required.
- Inspects, repairs, or replaces pumps, valves and boiler systems, including swimming pool pumps.
- Conducts both major and minor repairs on freezers, coolers, boiler, heat pumps, furnaces, chillers, packaged air conditioning units, compressors, exhaust fans, gas fired ovens, and computer of energy management system (EMS) or Building automation Systems (BAS).
- Plans and assists with HVACR installations; checks operating status of EMS with computers; and maintains temperatures within schools and facilities in accordance with prescribed conditions.
- Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Office of Public Safety, Refrigeration Technician License, Heating and Air Conditioning License and a Sheet Metal License.
