- The primary function of this position is to support the Applied Injury Biomechanics (AIB) team at NASA's Johnson Space Center.
- The Applied Injury Biomechanics Lab (AIB) is leading an effort to protect crew from suited injuries, and working with providers to protect the crew from injury due to vehicle dynamics, and to certify the vehicles are ready for human flight.
- Work with AIB Technical Leads to plan and implement operational evaluations to assess anthropometry, human factors, ergonomics, biomechanics, and/or risk of injury
- Assist with finite element model simulations to evaluate the loads and dynamics imparted on the crewmember by lunar vehicles; to include setting initial conditions, running the simulations in LS-DYNA, and data processing and analysis
- Serve as a test subject for protocol and hardware evaluations on a volunteer basis
