- The House Supervisor is responsible for managing and supervising the delivery of safe, effective patient care, ensuring the quality of nursing practice, and maintaining clinical nursing practice skills and unit specific expertise.
- Directly supervises Charge Nurses, staff RNs, LVNs, and CNAs/Mental Health Workers and is responsible for ensuring that all team members perform their respective duties in accordance with Hospital policy and standards of care.
- In addition, responsible for all departments and operations of the facility in the absence of hospital administration.
- Specific duties include hiring, evaluating, coaching, counseling and disciplining of employees; directing patient care activities; implementing staffing plan for shift based on patient acuity, patient census, and available staff; implementing work place changes; monitoring unit budgets; and participating in performance improvement projects.
- Ensures appropriate and safe staffing levels based on patient census and acuity.
