- These duties include carpentry, electrical and mechanical repairs and other maintenance duties.
- Assists Chief Engineer in administration of an on-going preventive maintenance program for equipment and guest rooms; performs planned maintenance on equipment to prolong life and prevent shutdown, including: Repairs furniture and structures, including mending chairs and tables, patching sheetrock, regluing wallpaper, and re-grouting bathroom tiles.
- Repairs and maintains heating and air conditioning unit by inspecting controls, cleaning and changing filters, and listening for faulty sounds.
- Responds to guest and staff needs, e.g., kitchen, lounge, laundry equipment, repairs, guest complaints, TV problems, clogged toilets and drains: Performs various electrical and mechanical repairs Performs minor repairs on fans and air conditioners Performs various carpentry work Performs routine plumbing repairs Records engineering log entries during assigned shift.
- Knows and observes safety precautions, fire safety procedures and emergency action plans, and use of fire control/alarm systems and extinguishers.
