- This class differs from that of Motor Equipment Operator because of the higher degree of skill required in operating equipment, as well as the type of equipment operated, plus additional responsibilities associated with the different tasks involved, such as supervising other equipment operators, mechanics, maintenance workers or other subordinate workers.
- Operates equipment such as: bucket truck, front-end loaders, aerial lifts, hoist truck, skid loader, hand and power saws, wood chippers, winches, blowers, stump grinders, etc.
- When not operating motorized equipment, works as a laborer or semi-skilled laborer as assigned;
- Operates some of the following: combination back hoe, loaders, grader, trenchers, bucket truck as well as other equipment and equipment developed or advanced from future technology as required by the job;
- Uses various hand tools and power tools (example: chain saws, etc.)
