- This position is required to perform skilled work in the maintenance, diagnosis, repair and overhaul of heavy gasoline, diesel and electric powered construction heavy equipment.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic problems on heavy equipment including: motor graders, loaders, excavators, bulldozers, cranes, forklifts, sanding equipment, heavy duty trucks, street sweeper, diesel powered generators, and other heavy duty equipment.
- Overhaul, repair and adjust Detroit Diesel, Caterpillar, Case, International Harvester, Cummins and John Deere engines; transmissions, differentials, clutches, final drives, steering and suspension systems, air and hydraulic brakes, drive lines and all types of hydraulic and pneumatic components such as pumps, valves, and cylinders.
- Prefer formal technical training or schooling in diesel and heavy equipment repair.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a journeyman heavy duty equipment mechanic.
