- We license all hunting, fishing and watercraft; oversee and permit all mineral extraction, monitor dam safety, manage water resources and serve as the second largest Law Enforcement presence in the State of Ohio.
- Enter Ohio’s eligible abandoned mine land problems into the Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement’s eAMLIS (Electronic Abandoned Mine Land Inventory System) This includes data entry, updates, and end of year reporting.
- Manage Ohio’s AML inventory, to ensure the problem types meet the Federal Guidelines for eligibility to be entered into eAMLIS. Create or generate Problem Documentation Forms (PDOC)s for prioritization and eAMLIS entry, troubleshoot any issues or concerns with ESRI Survey 123 and Field Maps Applications as needed.
- Assist the public or other agencies in providing surface and underground mine maps or other data not readily available within the GIS.
- Provide the Ohio Mine Subsidence Insurance Underwriters Association (OMSIUA or MSI) geologic data as requested to support Mineral Resources Management (MRM or DMRM) and the MSI group with new or historic mine subsidence activity.
