- The Flight Nurse is actively involved in assisting and training and continuing education of medical crew members.
- The Flight Nurse is required to make the decisions for care and appropriate patient destination in conjunction with Flight Nurse or Paramedic partner while in flight and during patient contact.
- The Flight Nurse must assist with continued quality assurance, to include assuring data collection and reviewing of charts for quality improvement.
- The Flight Nurse works in conjunction with multiple agencies at the scene of an emergency incident, or sending /receiving facility with diplomacy and tact.
- The Flight Nurse observes and follows all federal, state, and municipal laws, including, but not limited to, HIPAA, EMTALA, and OSHA guidelines.
