- The Fleet Mechanic will perform skilled mechanical work functions associated with maintenance and repair of vehicles.
- Duties include inspecting, testing, diagnosing, and repairing engine component systems, (i.e., ignition, electronic fuel injection, steering, electrical, suspension, fuel, charging, exhaust, emission, inflatable restraint, heating/air conditioning, power windows, lighting, and horn).
- Performing routine/preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment, which may include pumping fuel into vehicles, checking/replacing fluid levels, draining/replacing oil, changing/replacing filters, lubricating mechanical parts, rotating tires, replacing tires/belts/hoses, checking batteries, greasing equipment, flushing radiators, performing tune-ups, and alignments.
- Must pass a comprehensive background/character investigation, medical examination, drug screening, and polygraph test; fingerprinting will be required.
