- Support Budget and Financial Planning : Harness and deepen your budgeting and financial planning knowledge to support the Budget Director with budgetary and financial planning activities, funding requests, and problem solving.
- Deepening your knowledge of state budgetary processes while assisting the agency Budget Director in completing annual state budget responsibilities, including requests from the Governor’s Executive Office for Administration and Finance or the House and Senate Committees on Ways and Means
- Supporting the Director of Fiscal Operations, Budget Director, and Chief Financial Officer in completing ad hoc analysis of finance issues that may involve revenue forecasting, payroll analysis or oversight, and agency spending through the creation of financial modeling tools (e.g. Excel, dashboards) to assist agency leadership in tracking spending, or identifying financial or budgetary issues or risks
- Proficiency in Financial Systems: Demonstrate your hands-on experience with key financial systems such as the Massachusetts Management Accounting and Reporting System (MMARS), COMMBUYS, Commonwealth Information Warehouse (CIW), and HRCMS. Your familiarity with these systems should encompass not only basic navigation but also a degree of advanced functionalities relevant to fiscal operations, such as budget tracking, procurement management, data analysis, and reporting.
