- This is a safety/security sensitive position for purposes of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment.
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service including but not limited to, fire suppression, ventilation, salvage and overhaul, hazardous materials, emergency medical assistance, utilities, air supply, rehabilitation, exposure, water supply, aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF), and specialized rescue.
- Safely deliver crew members and equipment to the scene of all types of emergencies - EMS, fire, hazardous materials, motor vehicle accidents, extrication, aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF), technical rescue, and aerial operations.
- 12 college credit hours Firefighter I and Firefighter II certification through IFSAC or Pro-BoardA minimum of two years' honorable service in the US Armed Forces including National Guard.
- Ark. State Code provides that no person who has arrived at the age of thirty-five (35) shall be eligible for appointment to the Fire Department except where the applicant is already a paid firefighter.
