- This position serves as a Fire Protection Engineer and is in the Consulting Support Services (CSS), Office of the Deputy Executive Director (ODED), Office of Construction & Facilities Management (CFM), Office of Acquisition, Logistics, and Construction (OALC), Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA), in Washington DC. The CSS provides support on Architect/Engineer (A/E) issues and are Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), in all matters pertaining in VA's design and construction programs.
- Performing specialized and technical duties related fire protection as well as technical consultation to various VA and CFM officials on matters pertaining to fire protection and life safety.
- Providing professional expertise to other professional engineers, architects, and other government agencies involved with VA projects such as US Army Corps of Engineers on difficult problems and situations as they occur.
- Remote/Virtual: This position may be filled at the facility where the position is located (VA Central Office, Washington, DC) or in person - telework authorized (e.g., the employee may work at a VA facility or other Vleased space other than the facility that is hiring the employee)
- Basic Requirements for General Engineer: Degree: professional engineering.
