- Essential Functions : Under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Student Services in the College of Professional and Global Education (PaGE), and working closely with the Cal state LA Associate Director in the Center for Student Financial Aid and Scholarships, the Financial Aid Advisor is responsible for advising students regarding all aspects of student financial aid programs and processes.
- The incumbent will demonstrate a commitment to student success by his/her responsibility for coordinating financial aid for students enrolled in PaGE programs.
- The Financial Aid Advisor is required to apply federal, state, CSU Chancellor’s Office Executive Orders, institutional policies and regulations to ensure compliance in all functions of awarding financial aid to include but not limited to Cal Grant, Secondary Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG), federal direct loans, private student loans, VA Education Benefits, and Prison Education Program.
- Equivalent of two years of professional experience in Financial Aid or one of the student services program areas or in a related field.
- Must be able to travel to and from the DTLA campus and Cal State LA. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment.
