- Description :Field Geophysicist will be performing a variety of data collection tasks using geophysical and GPS equipment to support remedial investigation or removal action projects for Department of Defense clients at formerly used defense sites with potential unexploded ordnance contamination.
- What you will be doing:Conducting quality control tests and collecting digital geophysical data, and there may also be opportunities to perform other environmental remediation tasks such as soil and water samplingSupporting the project team by assisting with work plan preparation, report writing, and data analysis.
- Extensive travel to field sites required - 80% travel initially.
- 40-60% travel after gaining appropriate level of field experienceFieldwork involves performing physically demanding tasks and working 10-hour days (typically 4 to 5 10-hour days per week), potentially in adverse field conditions (cold, hot, high wind, dusty environment, rough terrain) in remote locations.
