- Requires on-call responsibilities to where the advocate will return to FDIHB to provide emergency advocacy services, assessments, crisis intervention and assist in the emergency medical evaluation of sexually abused/assaulted children, adolescents and adults, on weekends, nights and holidays.
- Responds to emergency and walk-in patients who present to the FAC in person or on the phone with concerns of sexual assault and child sexual abuse.
- Assesses the immediate safety needs of victims and reports to tribal social services and law enforcement as appropriate.
- Works with caretakers to ensure they understand and have the tools to provide a therapeutic and supportive environment for children and adolescents suffering the impact of child sexual abuse or sexual assault.
- Follows up on patient referrals and coordinates the provision of services at the Family Advocacy Center with community agencies and professionals such as social services, law enforcement, and behavioral health personnel to ensure timely and effective care for patients and their families.
