- The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology of the University of Minnesota Medical School seeks a clinical faculty member to serve as Director of the HLA/Transplant Immunology Laboratory.
- Minimum requirements for an M.D. include eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Minnesota, board certification by the American Board for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI) and qualifications as Laboratory Director, Technical Supervisor and Clinical Consultant for the subspecialty Histocompatibility, under the 2023 CLIA Final Rule. Board Certification in CP or AP/CP by the American Board of Pathology is also required.
- Minimum requirements for a Ph. D. include board certification by the American Board of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ABHI) and qualifications as Laboratory Director, Technical Specialist and Clinical Consultant under the 2023 CLIA Final Rule.
- This large laboratory program supports preeminent solid organ (kidney, heart, lung, pancreas, liver) and stem cell transplant programs for the University of Minnesota Medical Center as well as other metro and regional transplant programs including LifeSource, the organ procurement organization that serves communities in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and portions of Western Wisconsin.
- The HLA/Transplant Immunology Laboratory is fully accredited in all areas of histocompatibility testing including DNbased HLA class I and II typing, solid phase antibody testing, and cross matching.
