- We are looking for an Infectious Disease physician to assume a system-wide leadership position as hospital epidemiologist at Tampa General Hospital and University of South Florida.
- This is a full-time job that will involve close collaboration with the TGH quality, infection prevention, clinical microbiology laboratory, and antibiotic stewardship teams.
- The hospital epidemiologist will work closely with the academic faculty of the USF Division of Infectious Disease who have robust clinical and research activities in HIV care, prevention of hospital acquired infections, global health, and public health.
- Serving as a Medical Director and with the support of the Infection Prevention department, responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and managing the spread of infectious diseases within the hospital, the Hospital Epidemiologist plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and healthy hospital environment relative to infectious diseases.
- Routinely conducts surveillance of the environment and reports on potential hazards related to infection prevention.
