- The Engineering Technician – Permits & Assessments assists with management of the public right-of-way (ROW) and delivery of the permits and assessment program within the Municipal Services Division of the Public Works Department.
- Typical duties include but are not limited to: data management for assessment charges and cost recovery; issuance of permits for ROW obstructions and construction; field inspection of ROW permits and construction restoration; maintenance of records and files; providing mapping services; and providing various cost calculations.
- Maintain current file of applicable rules and regulations pertaining to public works i.e. state aid rules, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) requirements, wetland rules, and other policies as appropriate.
- Support the Sidewalk Improvement District Program and the Sidewalk Snow Removal Program; provide mapping services and cost calculations; maintain records and files, deliver excellent customer service to residents, contractors and City teammates.
- Create visual aids for neighborhood or other meetings using AutoCAD, GIS, or other methods.
