- The Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and the Emory University Department of Pediatrics invite applicants for the position of Aflac Hematology Section Chief.
- The Hematology Program is the largest in the country in clinical volumes, with vigorous laboratory and clinical research in sickle cell disease, hemostasis and thrombosis, as well as general hematology, which encompasses red blood cell disorders and rare anemias, thalassemia, platelet disorders, bone marrow failure, immunohematogy, and vascular anomalies.
- The Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center has 122 faculty and 50 Advance Practice Providers (APPs), conducting basic, translational, and clinical research related to pediatric oncology and hematology disorders, with expertise in leukemias, lymphomas, brain tumors, neuroblastoma, sarcomas, rare tumors, renal tumors, CAR T-cell therapies, hemoglobinopathies, hemophilia and rare blood disorders.
- We follow over 2,100 active patients with sickle cell disease, and 600 with bleeding or clotting disorders.
- Aflac is the pediatric component of the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University.
