- The Emergency Department Technician has the knowledge and ability to perform all duties as outlined in the Nursing Assistant job description in addition to responsibilities unique to the Emergency Department.
- Assistance in the delivery of patient care and performance of duties include but are not limited to: obtaining vital signs and patient weights, performing and reporting 12-lead EKG's, blood glucose monitoring, room and environmental readiness, splinting and application or orthopedic devices and all as delegated by the registered nurse.
- Identify need to reorder supplies and coordinate with the Unit Secretary or Office Manager following established policies and procedures.
- Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, or Physician, apply splints, orthopedic devices and perform crutch walking training.
- Monitor and provide care to patients in the Behavioral Health Unit as directed by the Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, or Physician.
