- Practices in a manner consistent with the Elliot Hospital Interprofessional Practice model; the ANA’s Social Policy Statement, Scope and Standards of Practice, and the Nursing Code of Ethics, and the American Radiological Nurses Association under the general direction of the Director of Diagnostic Imaging and the direct supervision of the Clinical Nurse Manager.
- Assists in diagnostic & interventional radiology procedures as well as diagnostic & interventional vascular procedures and interventional radiological procedures, including but not limited to angiography, angioplasty, and stent placement; biopsy procedures; fibroid removal; fluid and abscess drainage/aspiration, dialysis access insertions/removals/declotting, vertebroplasty, kyphoplasty, line placements, tube insertions/changes, RF ablations, myelograms/discograms and venograms.
- Delivers care to the pediatric, adult or geriatric patient within scope of practice and competency undergoing a diagnostic imaging procedure, including but not limited to CT, fluoroscopy, nuclear med, MRI and ultrasound
- Follows established standards and practices under the direction of a credentialed radiologist, cardiologist, interventional radiologist or surgeon.
- Demonstrates knowledge and competency in performance of procedures in the interventional radiology lab and recovery process; provides effective delivery of patient care pre, intra and post procedure care delivery.
