- An incumbent assists the physician with all procedures in the EP lab, including implanted devices and arrhythmia ablations; assists the physician during diagnostic and therapeutic electrophysiology procedures and device implants.
- An incumbent assists during electrophysiology procedures in the role of either: 1) a circulating technologist, who directly assists the procedural team; 2) a scrub technologist, who directly assists the physician during the procedure, or 3) a monitoring technologist.
- Work involves the application of scientific principles related to clinical electrophysiology to provide technical support and patient care services and an incumbent applies/integrates knowledge of cardiovascular physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, electrical technique and interventions being performed to monitor the patient for potential/actual physiological and behavioral changes intra-procedure and intervenes appropriately within scope of licensure.
- Associate s degree in Cardiovascular Technology or related field or successful completion of a Radiological Technologist program, and one year of related cardiovascular technology work experience that would demonstrate attainment of the requisite job knowledge/abilities.
