- Position Summary This classification is represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) local 1245, which has over 100 years of experience representing employees at PG&E. This position may be subject to Joint Apprentice Training Committee (JATC) review and approval.
- This candidate may be required to perform all types of substation switching included but not limited to field parallels, field loops, and line clearances as well as electrical maintenance and may perform field switching for substation assigned work.
- Install and overhaul electric equipment and machinery, transformers, power circuit breakers, switches, and associated hardware.
- Lays out materials for installation, such as conduit, steel, wires, junction boxes, tools, etc.
- Uses power tools and hand tools to install equipment and systems, such as wire terminations, high voltage equipment, overhead and underground electrical and conduit systems, steel structures, control panels, metering and protection systems, air switches.
