- The Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for two tenure-track Professor positions at the Assistant or Associate level in solid Earth geophysics.
- We are especially interested in applicants using modern data collection and analysis tools, theory, or numerical modeling to investigate the crust or lithosphere with tools from seismology, geodesy and related disciplines.
- Subjects of interest include, but are not limited to, imaging the Earth, geohazards, near-surface geophysics, and crustal or lithosphere dynamics.
- The successful candidates will develop innovative, externally-funded research programs, have a strong commitment to mentoring and teaching graduate and undergraduate students, and work to enhance the diverse UCSC community of Earth, Atmospheric, Planetary, and Ocean scientists.
- These positions will complement existing expertise in earthquake physics, seismology, mineral physics, surface processes, glaciology, geochemistry, planetary sciences, and hydrogeology.
