This position is within the Investments and Incentives team in GPS which is responsible for leading the design, implementation and governance over a multi-billion-dollar portfolio of investments. As a Director of Strategic Partner Investments, you will be responsible for leading a team responsible for shaping unique deals and programs constructed with partners. Responsibilities <ul><li>Manage and lead team. Today 2 Individual Contributor's with minimal vendor. Roadmap to grow team across both elements.</li><li>Core responsibility is to engage and lead custom deal requests with partners of any type (SI, ISV, Telco or other).</li><ul><li>These typically arise when MSFT is partnering in a sell-with arrangement.</li><li>Deal pursuits require engagement across sales and partner teams, Deal Desk, and Operations / Compliance teams.</li><li>Shape incoming custom deal requests and provide initial guidance on deal feasibility.</li><li>Work closely with finance to model the economics of deal scenarios.</li><li>Coach requestors in preparation for review by the Partner Incentive Review governance and operations process.</li></ul><li>Create and evolve a custom deal assessment framework to guide requestors on good deal patterns for custom partner incentives (e.g., expected ROI, terms, payout percentages, opportunities for compliant creativity).</li><li>Understand incentives and investment programs to guide requestors to standard constructs for deal economics.</li><li>Contribute to a diverse and inclusive team culture.</li><li>You have developed and implemented strategies that generate revenue and positive outcomes for partners or customers.</li><li>You have a strategic growth mindset, drive positive business impact, and continuously learn and innovate.</li><li>You have the capability to actively contribute and build collaboration within diverse and virtual teams.</li><li>You are action-oriented and able to build and deliver proficient results through others beyond the team as well.</li><li>You proactively engage directly with external partners and internal business partners to gain insights into our portfolio and offerings.</li><li>You simplify and inspire through storytelling and communication. </li></ul>Other <ul><li>Embody our Culture and Values </li></ul>Qualifications Required/Minimum Qualifications: <ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Engineering or related field AND 5+ years experience in business consulting, sales, sales operations, information technology (IT), account management, business development, marketing, IT field sales, engineering or a related field</li><ul><li>OR equivalent experience.</li></ul><li>4+ years experience in in Near Term Strategy (2 years out), Management Consulting, Sales, or Finance. </li></ul>Additional Or Preferred Qualifications <ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field AND 7+ years of marketing, strategy, sales, sales leadership, program management, project management, business planning, consulting, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience</li><ul><li>OR Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field AND 5+ years of marketing, strategy, sales, sales leadership, program management, project management, business planning, consulting, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience</li><li>OR equivalent experience.</li></ul><li>3+ years people management experience.</li><li>5-10 years of experience defining and leading business strategies from conception to reality.</li><li>5 years of pricing, incentive strategy project experience or subject matter expertise.</li><li>Experience collaborating with stakeholders with competing priorities to create aligned strategies.</li><li>Proficient written and oral communication skills, particularly the ability to synthesize complex issues and scenarios into easy-to-understand concepts with audiences of all levels.</li><li>Ability to work in a time-sensitive environment balancing complexity while driving strategic outcomes.</li><li>Principled decision making and confidence to respectfully say no to ideas and outcomes that are not in line with desired investment or incentive goals or budget.</li><li>An understanding of Microsoft’s commercial business models and licensing constructs (or similar at other companies).</li><li>An understanding of channel models and strategy. </li></ul>Sales Strategy Enablement M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $124,800 - $242,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $159,000 - $264,000 per year.
