- Temporary/Permanent: PermanentFunding: General INTRODUCTIONThis position reports directly to the (Vice President for Administration) and is primarily responsible for the overall management and coordination of emergency management and disaster preparedness operations amongst the 10 campuses that comprise the University of Hawai‘i System (“University”).
- Additionally, the position is responsible for developing, maintaining, implementing, and regularly updating an emergency management and disaster preparedness plan for the Manoa campus.
- Stakeholders include but are not limited to the Manoa Environmental Health and Safety Office, the System Office of Research Compliance, the Office of the Vice Provost for Research, the Student Housing Services program, the Athletics Department, the Office of Risk Management.
- Monitors incoming weather events or other situations identified in the emergency response plan; works with HI-EMA, FEMA and other state and federal agencies to coordinate disaster preparation and post disaster response activities on behalf of the University.
- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college and five years of progressively responsible professional experience in emergency management and/or disaster preparedness for a large, diverse, and complex organization, including development and implementation of emergency management and response plans, or comparable experience.
