- Whittier College is seeking an experienced writing specialist to establish a new Writing Center and direct the College Writing Program.
- The Director will work with the Center for Advising and Academic Success during the summer months to support the training and development of peer writing associates to complement current tutoring programs.
- Additionally, the Director will work with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness to establish clear assessment standards and protocols for the College Writing Program, its instructors, and Writing Across the Curriculum.
- Reports to: Dean of Academic SuccessLocation/Department: Whittier College (Main Campus)/Academic Affairs Position Duties and Responsibilities Work with the Dean of Academic Success to set up the Writing Center to support the College Writing Program and First Year Experience.
- Service on College-wide faculty committees such as the Curriculum Committee, Educational Policies Committee, Committee for the Future of the Liberal Arts, Enrollment and Student Affairs Committee, or others directed by the Dean of Academic Success.
