- Establish, implement, and maintain organizational policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulatory agencies including the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and others.
- Formulate company-specific general safety policies and procedures to be followed by all personnel; consult with all departments on the design and use of equipment, warehouse facilities, fire prevention and safety, and fleet programs.
- Establish and manage relationship with fleet management company to ensure efficient programs are in place for vehicle maintenance, fuel, licensing and registration, accident management and vehicle residual value (disposal).
- Manage relationship with third party vendor for Department of Transportation (DOT) driver compliance to include driver hiring requirements, driver qualification files, and DOT required drug and alcohol testing.
- Manage vehicle related requirements such as International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) fuel tax, vehicle inspections and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Safety Measurement System (SMS) compliance.
