- Reporting to the Preservation Services Team Leader and working closely with the Digital Collections Manager and Digital Preservation Librarian, the digitization specialist will be responsible for performing and supervising complex scanning and photography of materials from the Kelvin Smith Library and University Archive collections in compliance with national and international standards.
- This position will collaborate with various library teams and will actively engage with departments across the campus, and partners in University Circle, to determine and develop goals and outcomes of digitization work.
- Possess a significant level of expertise within reprographic photography; maintains knowledge about emerging issues and trends in archival imaging; understands the larger role of the digitization and digital preservation programs within the library's strategic positioning.
- Set project plans to execute multiple concurrent digitization projects of institutional collections photography and on-demand imaging requests from internal and external stakeholders for research, exhibition, printing, publication, and preservation.
- Develop, implement, and maintain digitization lab workflows and advise on equipment and software updates to adhere to preservation and industry standards.
