- The Mold Designer is an integral member of the technical team who provides expertise and capability in multifaceted mold concepts for automotive and non-automotive applications.
- The Mold Designer will be responsible for designing and helping to direct the build processes of production injection molds, compression molds, and supporting automation projects.
- Responsibilities include: Performing DFMs - part feasibility, risk identification, and resolution proposals Design and modeling of all aspects of injection molds, from start-to-finish: mold layout, parting surfaces, development of actions and mechanics, cooling, ejection, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, component details and BOM management.
- Understanding and interpreting mold filling simulations and cooling analyses Comprehending GD&T part drawings Checking and management of outsource designs.
- 3+ years in a tool designer role in production and/or R&D environments Experience using CATIA V5 or Cimatron CAD software preferred; comparable systems such as NX will be considered.
