- Area of concentration is open, although expertise in substance abuse, PTSD/trauma, depression, anxiety disorders, aging, interpersonal relationships/social connection, discrimination/mental-health disparities, evidence-based treatments for mental-health disorders, AI/machine-learning applications to mental health research, clinical health psychology and/or mental health outcomes in neurologic/medical populations would complement our department's research focus.
- A successful candidate will be able to teach undergraduate and master’s level graduate courses in clinical/counseling psychology (e.g. courses on psychotherapy, mental health disorders, clinical assessment & diagnosis), along with additional courses of the candidate’s choosing.
- Examples of possible courses for this position include Health Psychology, Addiction and Recovery, Advanced Seminar: Clinical Psychology, Advanced Experimental Psychology: Clinical, Introduction to Psychotherapy, Behavior Modification, Abnormal Psychology; as well as graduate classes in the M.S. Clinical/Counseling Psychology program.
- The department offers one undergraduate major in Psychology with three formal concentrations – General Psychology, Biological Psychology, and Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
