Supervisory Responsibilities: Carries out supervisory responsibilities given to him/her by the principal in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws 4. Professional Development: Continuously develop knowledge of current research and theory in specific field. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities <ul><li> Instructional Leadership: Assists the Principal in providing instructional leadership to the school. Performs a variety of administrative duties to assist the Principal in managing the school; assumes the duties of the Principal or Assistant Principal in the absence of the Principal and as assigned</li><li>Establishes and maintains an effective learning climate in the school and fosters good interpersonal relations among students and staff. </li><li>Supervises and evaluates the performance of designated certificated and/or classified personnel; assigns duties to faculty and staff as appropriate to meet school objectives; assists with the recruiting, interviewing, and selection of new faculty and staff. </li><li>Provides direction to a variety of faculty, staff, and student programs and services; participates in formal and informal classroom visitations and observations; provides recommendations and suggestions for improvement as appropriate</li><li>Develops and administers disciplinary procedures in accordance with district policies and state laws; receives referrals and confers with students, parents, teachers, community agencies, and law enforcement; responds to and resolves parent, student, and staff concerns and complaints; serves on discipline or expulsion panels as assigned</li><li>Assume responsibility for the implementation and observance of all Board Policies and Regulations by the school’s staff and students. </li><li>Serves as alternative LEA for Individual Educational Plans and 504s, and participates as needed in IEP, 504 or MTSS meetings. </li><li>Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of intervention programs that address the needs of at-risk students. </li><li>Trains and supports the implementation of restorative practices with all school staff, as well as facilitates restorative conferencing and mediation when conflict/harm occurs between students, staff, staff and students, and families and staff. </li><li>Assists in the development and implementation of re-entry of students returning from disciplinary events and works with PBTs to create student behavior intervention plans. </li><li>Collects data to assist in improving programming and outcomes for students. </li><li>Carries out supervisory responsibilities given to him/her by the principal in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees and students; addressing complaints and resolving problems. </li><li>Supervises students on campus before, during, and after school; monitors students during lunch, recess, passing periods, and other activities; instructs students in appropriate behavior; disciplines students in accordance with established guidelines. </li><li>Conducts fire and other emergency drills in accordance with state and local regulations. </li><li>Exert leadership ensuring the effective implementation of the district-adopted curriculum. </li><li>Assists in supervision of curricular and co-curricular programs and school sponsored events. </li><li>Direct school point of contact for primary bussing communication and discipline. </li><li>Works closely with school nurse and admin to monitor student health plans and administer student medication. </li><li>Participates in all mandatory training or training appropriate to the position as required by the district. </li><li>Performs special assignments and other duties as determined by the principal. </li><li>Performs special assignments and other duties as determined by the Associate Superintendent </li></ul>Minimum Qualifications <ul><li>Master’s degree with a major in elementary or secondary education</li><li>Be qualified to hold a North Dakota Secondary Principal’s Credential</li><li>One of the following: valid North Dakota Teaching Certificate with an Elementary or Middle School Endorsement, special course work related to Elementary or Middle School, or valid administrative certificate. </li><li>Minimum five years teaching and/or administrative experience </li></ul>Preferred Qualifications <ul><li>Masters Degree in Educational Leadership</li><li>Experience in administrative duties at the secondary level</li><li>Experience with trauma-informed practices such as: Ukeru, CPI, restorative practices, Catalyst. </li><li>Knowledge and experience with the behavioral, academic, social, emotional development of MS students post-COVID. </li><li>Experience working with diverse populations, utilizing inclusive language and practices to foster an environment of equity and respect for all individuals. </li><li>Ability to prioritize and execute various tasks in a high-paced environment </li></ul>Application Procedures All applications for open Fargo Public Schools positions must be made via www.applitrack.com/fargo/onlineapp. Paper submissions will not be accepted.
