- The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (hereafter known as CRNA), with appropriate staff privileges and current licensure and re-certification will provide anesthesia services.
- The Staff Anesthetist provides individualized anesthesia services to patients in the following age groups: infancy, children, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
- The Staff Anesthetist works collaboratively with the Anesthesiologists and reports administratively to the Chief Anesthetist, Medical Director of Anesthesia Department and the Senior Vice President.
- The CRNA is expected to assess, evaluate and treat each patient situation and utilize professional judgment in selecting a course of action in the best interest of the patient.
- This includes, but is not limited to: being responsible to interview patients, review the chart pre-op, induce, maintain, and manage emergence from anesthesia, provide clinical instruction, accompany patients to PACU/ICU/NICU/SDS, give full report to appropriate personnel, and provide follow-up care as needed.
