About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a Counsel to join the Employment Counseling & Litigation Section in the Employment Division of the Wells Fargo Legal Department. The individual selected will join a team of attorneys responsible for handling employment-related legal issues for the company and its subsidiaries, including managing administrative agency claims, threatened litigation, litigation, and outside counsel relationships; providing advice, counsel and risk management training to business line management and Human Resources; developing and drafting policies, plans, agreements and contracts; and working on reports and projects as may be needed. In this role, you will:<ul><li>Participate in less complex initiatives and identify opportunity for process improvements</li><li>Represent the Company in highly complex litigation, negotiations, settlement discussions, and claims-related legal issues</li><li>Provide guidance to internal clients on legal matters</li><li>Review and analyze basic assignments or challenges that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives, and exercise independent judgment to guide medium risk deliverables</li><li>Manage highly complex claims and litigation</li><li>Participate in initiatives of varying scope and complexity</li><li>Support the work of more experienced counsel along with professional staff on complex matters or may consult with more experienced counsel and outside counsel on complex matters</li><li>Present recommendations for complex situations and exercise independent judgment while developing expertise in policies, procedures, and compliance requirements</li><li>Provide leadership and direction for certain complex functions worldwide</li><li>Advise on the impact of policy, legal, and regulatory changes</li><li>Provide guidance to less experienced counsel or paralegals</li><li>Develop the strategic direction for certain claims functions and management of related policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate risk</li><li>Collaborate with functional colleagues, internal partners, and stakeholders</li><li>Partner with business leaders and management of other corporate departments to develop and implement risk management programs</li></ul> Required Qualifications:<ul><li>2+ years of Law experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education</li><li>Active State Bar membership or the equivalent in a country outside the United States</li></ul> Desired Qualifications:<ul><li>Knowledge of and extensive experience with state and federal employment laws and regulations</li><li>Knowledge and experience with handling employment law matters in litigation and the administrative agency process</li><li>Assume responsibility quickly and have the ability to work in a complex environment requiring a high degree of collaboration</li><li>Ability to analyze employment law and regulatory issues and provide effective advice to clients on complex employment legal matters</li><li>In house legal experience</li><li>Experience providing counsel and guidance regarding complex employment law issues</li><li>Experience with FINRA matters, including providing counsel and guidance regarding complex employment law issues involving employees who are licensed through FINRA and experience handling arbitration of employment claims before FINRA</li><li>Experience handling employment litigation, administrative issues, and arbitration of employment claims before AAA, JAMS, or other arbitration forums</li><li>Experience with management-side labor law, including organizing campaigns, collective bargaining, and labor-relations lawsuits, charges, arbitration hearings and administrative proceedings</li><li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy</li><li>Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills</li><li>Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work while handling matters of significance</li><li>Ability to work effectively in a complex environment with a high degree of collaboration</li><li>Effective in building partnerships, functioning well with project teams, and working for the success of the team</li></ul>Job Expectations:<ul><li>Position will require onsite presence from any of the required locations listed below</li><li>This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship</li><li>Relocation assistance is not available for this position.</li></ul>Pay Range$96,600.00 - $188,900.00Benefits Wells Fargo provides all eligible full- and part-time employees with a comprehensive set of benefits designed to protect their physical and financial health and to help them make the most of their financial future.
