The CSIU is currently accepting applications for a full time Corrections Education Teacher position in a corrections education residential youth treatment program located in Danville, PA.  This position is responsible for the daily instruction in the area of English/Language Arts (ELA) curriculum for students in a particular school program on the corrections campus, based on individual need.

Salary Range:  $49,353 to $65,808 dependent on education and applicable public-school experience.  This is an exempt position following a 188 days per year school year schedule. Education, Experience and Skills Required:
•	Minimum requirement is a Bachelor's degree with a major in English/Language Arts field of study. 
•	A valid Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) instructional certificate in the area of 3230 - English/Language Arts 7-12. A candidate with a bachelor’s degree and willingness to obtain a Type 01 Long-Term Substitute Teacher with Educational Obligation emergency permit with education obligation in the area of 3230 - English/Language Arts 7-12 will be considered. 
•	A demonstrated ability to work with at-risk populations. 
•	Excellent interpersonal and communications skills are necessary to properly maintain open channels of communication with agencies, school districts, parents, members of higher education institutions, etc. 
•	Must have ability to communicate and work effectively with colleagues, co-workers, community agency personnel, and students/trainees. 
•	Requires the ability to develop and maintain positive and collaborative relationships using tact and diplomacy and to remain calm in unpredictable situations. 
•	The ability to work productively with the agency and residential staff are essential. 
•	Maintain confidentiality regarding education programs, students and parents at all times adhering to the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) requirements to protect staff and student data. 
•	Computer experience using word processing, email, internet. 
•	Adept at using virtual meeting platforms such as Skype, Zoom and Microsoft Teams. Effective operation of personal computers and email is an essential part of this position.
