We are looking for a dedicated, personable, hands-on Controller seeking a dynamic opportunity to guide our clients and provide transformative accounting services. Successful candidates must be comfortable working with multiple clients both virtually and on-site. The Controller will interact with clients, their staff, Board of Directors, and Finance Committees on a regular basis. Responsibilities Serve as the outsourced Controller/CFO for multiple non-profit clients. Your responsibilities would include: <ul><li> Transforming nonprofit client financial departments to help them meet their mission! </li><li> Financial reporting for management and Board decision making and presentations </li><li> Recommending and implementing improvements to accounting, operations, internal controls, and compliance policies and procedures, supporting client strategy and best practices </li><li> Transactional activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable (revenue recognition and billing), and payroll, general accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, and maintaining workpapers </li><li> Analysis and data visualization, budgeting and forecasting </li><li> Grant management, allocations, and funder reporting </li><li> Prepare for and manage annual audit </li><li> Client and staff training opportunities </li></ul>Qualifications <ul><li> Passionate about working in or supporting non-profit organizations </li><li> Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance </li><li> 5-7 plus years accounting experience </li><li> Experience working in a remote environment preferred </li><li> Ability to manage and lead multiple clients, work independently, and be responsive on a timely basis </li><li> Demonstrated strong Microsoft Excel skills </li><li> Experience with multiple GL packages, especially QuickBooks, and electronic bill pay systems </li><li> Non-profit accounting, public accounting experience, and/or consulting experience is a plus but not required </li><li> CPA certification is a plus </li><li> Bilingual-English/Spanish a plus </li><li> Customized cover letter explaining interest and qualifications for this role is required </li></ul> YPTC Offers <ul><li> A Best Place to Work! Total compensation may increase with overtime pay and eligibility for various bonuses. A professional development reimbursement and technology stipend are also provided on an annual basis.
