- Introduction The State Park Commission (now the Division of Parks and Recreation) began managing the land as Indian River State Park in 1965, but it didn't become Delaware Seashore State Park until 1967.
- This position is responsible for daily supervision of full time Conservation Technician I's, II's' and III's as well as seasonal grounds crew and conduct performance reviews and plans, maintenance and repair work on Park Grounds equipment, automobiles, and machinery in addition to performing maintenance and janitorial duties.
- Applies conservation and preservation principles and practices in support of the management of the state's natural resources which includes such activities as propagating, seeding, transplanting, cultivating, harvesting and care of trees, flowers, shrubs, lawns and crops to include turf/grounds management, pest management, herbicide/fertilizer application, layout and design, assessment of soil composition and environmental conditions.
- Performs maintenance and repairs in a variety of labor/trades fields such as plumbing, carpentry, painting, welding, construction, grounds maintenance and assists higher level personnel on large scale projects.
- Job Requirements JOB REQUIREMENTS for Conservation Technician IVApplicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control: Division of Parks: Three years experience in operating and maintaining motor vehicles, landscaping and groundskeeping equipment and hand tools.
