- Preference will be given to candidates with significant knowledge of climate change and sustainability issues, a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate education in entrepreneurship, strong interest and background in new business design and strategy (familiarity with Lean Startup principles), and a record of effective and innovative teaching at the interface between entrepreneurship, climate change issues, and/or design thinking.
- Hacking 4 Climate serves as the idea refinement and workforce development component of the Aggie Climate action for Equity (ACE): Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Climate Change Solutions program, managed by Venture Catalyst, Office of Research.
- ACE is a multi-faceted initiative that simultaneously builds internal innovation capacity, workforce development for students, and community engagement on the front-end of the innovation pipeline, while also moving promising climate-impact technologies out of the technology research stage and into the translational product development stage.
- The program's goal is to nurture technologies, policy interventions, and behavioral innovations that can play a tangible role in climate change mitigation, resilience, and adaptation, with a specific attention to end-user engagement and a focus on positively impacting California's communities most vulnerable to the effects of climate change.
- Preference will be given to candidates with significant knowledge of the Lean Startup methodology, a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate education in entrepreneurship, strong interest and background in new business design and strategy, and a record of effective and innovative teaching at the interface between entrepreneurship, climate change issues, and/or design thinking.
