General approach to assignments is prescribed, whereas construction methods are largely left to the incumbent.Fabricates the most complicated parts having many interrelated dimensions, compound angles, irregular surfaces, coordinate and exacting tolerances requiring the layout of parts, the selection and use of hand tools and/or the setup and operation of various machine tools. Improvises production aids as necessary to facilitate operations. Employs precision measuring instruments. Reworks and calibrates production parts or assemblies and machine tooling as required.
