- CNC Machinist responsibilities are to set up and operate computer numerical controlled (CNC) vertical machining centers, CNC lathes, and 4-axis controllers to produce high tolerance and precision metallic and nonmetallic parts by performing the following duties.
- Job Responsibilities of the CNC Machinist : ·Reads, studies, and accurately interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerance of finished workpieces or parts, sequences of operations, and setup requirements.
- Creates, adjusts, or modifies CNC programs either manually or with Computer Aided Machining software (CAM).
- Measures, marks, and confirms specification dimensions and reference points on material or workpieces as guides for subsequent machining.
- Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, and drill presses.
