- Job Title: CNC Machinist 4/5-Axis Mill Job Code: UW190A Job Location: Canoga Park, CA Job Schedule: 9/80 2nd Shift Job Description: We are seeking a CNC Machinist 4/5-Axis Mill to join our facility in Canoga Park, CA (Los Angeles area).
- At this facility, we design & manufacture rocket engines and unique power systems that support space exploration & the defense of our nation such as NASA’s SLS, Lockheed Martin’s THAAD, Sierra Nevada’s Dream Chaser, and the Mars Perseverance Rover.
- Setup and run multiple axis machine tools including Horizontal Boring Mills, Mill-Turns, VTMC’s, 3+ axis mills, CNC Lathes, with the possibility of manual machine operation as needed.
- Perform mathematical calculations using shop math, geometry and trigonometry to layout center lines, reference points, machining guide lines and angular dimensions on materials, parts, assemblies and tooling for machining processes.
- Apply a working knowledge of machining characteristics of various materials and metals to pre-set cutting tools on the machine.
