- The purpose of the Audiologist is to provide hearing health care services of the highest quality to exceed external and internal customer expectation and to support the efficiency and effectiveness of the medical office operations.
- Manages the audiology function/department on a day to day basis, ensuring adherence to established policies, procedures, work methods and standards practice.
- Performs otoscopic examination and external ear canal management for the removal of cerumen in order to evaluate hearing or balance, makes ear impressions, fits hearing protection or prosthetic devices, and monitors the continuous use of hearing aids.
- Measures and interprets sensory and motor-evoked potentials, electromyography, and other electrodiagnostic tests for purposes of neurophysiologic intraoperative monitoring and cranial nerve assessment.
- Supervises professional and technical personnel who provide support functions to the practice of audiology.
