- The Chief Operating Officer oversees, directs and coordinates the operational activities and programs associated with the day-to-day operations of the hospital through the delivery of cost-effective and quality services.
- Acts as the main leader of the organization in the absence of the President.
- Where appropriate, represents the hospital to the external market, as well as internally through the application of community relations and marketing.
- Communicates key information to stakeholders of these service areas with respect to managed care, marketplace needs and the competitive environment, cost management, and patient-focused services.
- Required: 5+ years in a senior management role within a hospital system, either as a CEO, COO, or Senior Vice President of Operations or as a CEO of a proprietary hospital within a chain.
