- The Data Governance and Privacy Program (DGPP) within the Washington State Patrol (WSP) develops and manages the agency's data governance data privacy and data analytics policies and standards.
- Data governance is an area of strategic emphasis for the agency and is a programmatic service central to WSP's business purpose.
- The DGPP is responsible for preparing and leading the implementation of a strategic direction for data management within WSP. The Program functions at an executive level within WSP, reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO).
- This position will report to the CIO as the agency's Chief Data Officer (CDO) focusing on the implementation, management, and success of the agency's strategic data management initiatives.
- The CDO is responsible for the development and maintenance of WSP's data governance framework, contract/vendor requirements, and overseeing the flow of data both within WSP and between WSP and external entities.
