- The NAC assists in the delivery of patient care and department-related activities under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Maintains quality control logs such as for urine dip sticks, glucose controls, temperature log-book, and medication refrigerator temperatures.
- Competently performs assigned technical skills (i.e. bladder scans for PVR’s, specimen collection and testing, traction and trapeze equipment setup, glucose monitoring, dressing changes, Oxygen Saturation, listening to pulse, printing monitor strips, etc
- Able to perform the role of Patient Safety Attendant (PSA) as directed, by ensuring patient safety, taking responsibility for the environment of care and communicating with RN/charge RN/designee of changes to patient condition in a timely manner.
- Acute or skilled experience will be waived if the applicant has demonstrated experience involving customer service in healthcare or other related industry and completion of an acute care NAC course.
